Isabel + Ryan | Los Angeles Mormon Temple Wedding

Sep 15, 2018 | Wedding

I got to do this adorable couple’s bakersfield wedding bridal session a few days before their big day. It was hot and muggy. But, come on, they rocked it (take a look yourself)!!!

The day of:

Their big day started off super early in the morning as the bride got ready. Once they were all ready, we went out the door and headed to the the ceremony in los angels, and then back to Bakersfield for their reception.

It was a warm sunny, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky day, not ideal for photos in mid day, but the grounds of the temple had beautiful landscapes so it wasn’t an issue. I was excited for this wedding as I have never been to an Mormon temple. I knew what to expect as I have family that are Mormon and so they gave me a good picture of what to expect ( Thanks Joanne and Alisa). Once we all arrived, the bride and groom went into the temple, and I had about 2 hours to look around and prepare for their exit later. I started scouting around the grounds looking for spots that I could use. As I’m walking down a path, a bug hits my hand and I fling it off…and accidentally throwing my phone which was in that had at the same time. It goes off into the bushed and I take off. I later see the stinger still in my hand. Had it not been there, I would have had no clue what happened. Thank goodness I wasn’t allergic to bees. So now I had to figure out how to find and get my phone back. I located where the bee hive was, of course right near where I flung my phone. Long story short, I got real low and slowly crept to where I saw my phone in the bushed and grabbed and ran. I’m sure I looked silly from the cars driving by.

Over all the day went without a hitch and these two were surrounded by family and loved ones! It was such a joy to be there with them and capture their best day ever!

3 things about the couple:

These two were so sweet together. I had learned that they were high school sweethearts and they both went and attend BYU which is where he proposed. They both are from here and most of the family is still in Bakersfield so they made the drive back so they could get married with family and at the LDS temple in Los Angeles.
Funny thing, when I posted one of their bridal portraits on my instagram , a friend of mine commented that the groom was her nephew! Small world!! It’s so true that Bakersfield is JUST small enough that eventually you’ll know everybody (or close to it)
