Alex + Tyler | Felicita Park Engagement

May 19, 2019 | Engagement

Alex and Tyler were both going to the same grad school together. Little did they know that they wouldn’t be going for their degrees there, but also finding their soul mates there too!

So these two met at the party of a mutual friend. At the event, a group of people discussed getting together to play the Game of Thrones board game and Alex expressed interest.  And when the time came, Tyler made sure that Alex was invited to play. At the end of the night Tyler asked Alex out on their first solo date.

Their proposal story

On the return trip back from a weekend getaway to Palm Springs Tyler planned a hike on Palomar Mountain. He snuck the ring up in his backpack and successfully fended off Alex’s attempt to get into the backpack along the trip. Upon reaching the top of the mountain Tyler asked another hiker to take a photo of them. Once the camera was out and Alex was posing for the camera, Tyler dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him! To celebrate their new endeavor with one another, they had lunch and some California IPAs on top of the mountain.

story is over yet!

Alex actually proposed to Tyler as well…Surprises are fun and Alex wanted the opportunity to make Tyler feel special and surprise him too. Alex had already been planning a “rebuttal” proposal, but she had to scramble to execute it in time. Alex and Tyler love to listen to and discuss the NPR Politics Podcast every week. The podcast starts every episode with a listener voicemail so Alex decided to propose to Tyler by calling into the show. When Tyler then listened to the podcast he heard her proclamation and said yes once his surprise had finally subsided. Instead of a ring, Alex got him a “Tyler Box,” full all of his favorite things and gifts that are related to things about our relationship.

These two were such a joy to work with for their engagement session. After every pose or scene they did, they kissed without me even prompting them. It’s people like these that I love seeing people come together to get married. These too without a doubt love each other and are so thoughtful towards one another. Honesly, these are the types of people you want to surround yourself with!

Congrats again Alex and Tyler! So excited to see you two tie the knot in June!!!
