When I first met these two, I couldn’t help but be drawn to them. Sandra seemed so personable and more like a good friend, and Marco was a like that one funny guy that everyone invites to their parties. These two were something special. And when I found out they were getting married at Mt. Woodson Castle, I couldn’t wait to work with these two love birds.
When I got asked to drive 3.5 hours one way out to Glamis to do their engagement photos, I thought they were plum crazy (haha!). But despite my apprehensiveness, we did a whole day trip. And I’m so glad we did! This was just a sample of what was to come when their wedding day rolled around! Check out their sand dunes session here.
This wedding was such a fun and memorable one, and not just for the couple (the bride keeps telling me she wants to plan another wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle just for fun), but for me as well. I became friends with Marco and Sandra and it makes my job so much more fun and meaningful when I get to capture my friends on their special day!
My favorite part:
One favorite part to Sandra and Marco’s Mt. Woodson Wedding was their first look. These two wrote special letters to each other, so we had his back turned as she came out and we positioned them back to back and had them read the letters to themselves silently. It was a great moment for them to be together, holding hands, and reading their love letters…together. Once they were done reading, they were emotional but ready to finally see each other. At this point, I love being able to give the bride and groom a lil pep talk to help them settle down and really just live in the moment and embrace what’s to come. It’s a little something I like to try to provide to my couples…a moment of just them two, where their world can come to a stand still, and they just be…together.
So of course, as soon as Sandra and Marco saw each other, they both got emotional (I LOVE IT when they get emotional…more cry I say haha).
First look – SUCCESS
Congratulations, Sandra and Marco on your beautiful and memorable wedding at Mt. Woodson Castle! I’m so glad to have been a part of it and so glad we became friends through all of it too!!
