I met Andrea online through the San Diego Special Needs Support group on Facebook. I was in need of a friend, and she reached out to me. I’m so glad she did. When we shared our stories with each other, we were able to be a encouragement and be a support for one another.
This mama is such a strong mama (even if she doesn’t feel like it). Her youngest is special needs and had a stroke in utero and he has Cerebral Palsi. But despite the challenges that come with being a special needs family, there is so much love in this family.  It was truly blessing and a pleasure to be able to be this family’s Family Photographer and have some fun at the Scripps Pier in La Jolla!

Having a special needs child comes with a lot of hardship and a lot of trips to the hospital and specialists. Andrea and her family have a GoFundMe account and if you would like to donate to help ease their burden.

Jana - Such an amazing family and you captured them so beautifully! Thank you for sharing!!! ❤️ReplyCancel

I love surprise proposals! They are stressful, yes, but the joy it brings is so worth it! I got to work with the very-talented and stylist designer, Jillian from To Be Designed. Isn’t her set up so beautiful?!!

How he did it:

So Raj has had the ring since October 2016. He contacted Jillian whom then referred him to me. We started planning in the beginning of March.

The planned date was April 30th, they both flew from out of state, he flew a few days earlier without telling her. She was under the impression he was still working and they were both flying into town and meeting at the airport once arrived. He had to take his luggage BACK to the airport the day she arrived and pretend to be getting his luggage once they met up (sneaky sneaky).

Jillian and I arrived at Coronado beach and she put up the set up and I placed the candles (don’t want to say I helped cause she did pretty much all the work haha she’s amazing at that)

We start to see them come walking down the board walk and onto the beach in our direction. Jillian hits play on Raj’s picked out song for when they walk up. I then walk closer to the board walk but I was like the ONLY person standing there so I pretended to photograph the rocks (I know, I know, I’m that good). Meanwhile I hear Jillian yelling at me saying “they are right there!!!” I yelled back “I KNOW!!” hahah

I got to meet this mama from a Poway mom’s facebook group. In the past they had had not great experiences with photographers so I wanted to put my best foot forward for her and her family! In addition, I also went outside my normal “sunset” time and had their family session at 4pm.

I’m so beyond excited about how the McDonnell family session turned out!! Let me tell you, the lighting was beyond beautiful! Don’t take my word for it, check out their session!

I had the pleasure of meeting Jaclyn and Mike for their maternity session. These two were so adorable together and anyone could tell they were over the moon excited for their little miss to arrive. Once little miss came earth-side, Jaclyn got in touch with me and we immediately made plans for me to come over. I had no idea what I was going to walk into when I arrived at their house. I instantly got excited as everything was so white and chic and beautiful….and they had JUST moved in a few weeks earlier. As you can tell, her favorite color is white and it totally worked for their newborn lifestyle session! Lil miss’ session was a dream and I’m still in love with how it turned out. Every time I see the moments of Jaclyn and Mike swooning over their daughter…my heart melts…every single time.

Little miss is so well loved. mom and dad, you are doing such a great job already loving your little one, keep up the great work! Congrats Hornacek Family!!!

I don’t think these two could be any cuter together. This, people! THIS is what true love looks like! Honestly, this couple gave me all the feels hanging out with them at their engagement session and witnessing how much they love and adore each other. To make it even more perfect, I fell in love with their love story. I’m not about to spill the beans on their story just yet, but I’ll just leave it as they’ve liked each other for quite some time but timing was not on their side…until now!

Congrats Michelle and Joe! So excited to capture your special day in 1 month!!! EEKK!!!
